| WHY
I VOLUNTEER...
"When I
retired I felt the need for something to do. I like having
something, away from home, to get up in the morning to do.
I also like to work with people. We at MVRMC have an excellent
group with whom to work."

"I
like being busy and I feel it is a privilege to do volunteer
work. I enjoy working with others that also like what we are
doing. I am so grateful to be able to do service in this
way."

"The
reason I joined the MVRMC auxiliary was mainly for personal
reasons. My husband passed away and I was getting very bored and
with boredom comes depression, so I thought staying busy and
trying to help others would help me, which it did. By helping
patients, family, and visitors find their destination and seeing
they are taken care of is part of our main purpose. They all
appreciate the help and concern we show them."

"To
be a support for those that are going through any kind of
medical procedure. I know how scared I am when I have to have
tests or go into the hospital. When someone takes the time to
make me feel comfortable things go much better. Also, being new
to the area, volunteering lets me meet new people and make new
friends." Joan
