Electroencephalogram (EEG)
Our registered EEG technician works closely with a neurology
specialist at SLMVRMC to aid in the diagnosis of brain
disorders such as epilepsy, seizure disorders, injury-
and infection-related brain disorders, stroke, dementia,
and sleep disorders.
Modern digital equipment is used for EEG testing, and
we now offer ambulatory EEG through Neurology of Twin
Falls.
Electroencephalogram
(EEG) is a service provided at SLMVRMC to help the physician
diagnosing disorders of the brain. SLMVRMC has been
providing out-patients and in-house patients services
since 1968. We have two board certified Neurology specialist
on staff and our technologist is board registered with
ABRET The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic
Technologist, Inc . We have up to the date digital equipment
for EEG testing and now offer Ambulatory EEG’s through
Neurology of Twin Falls.
EEG is the primary tool in evaluation of Epilepsy, seizure
disorders, brain injury and infection, cerebral vascular
accidents (CVA), transient ischemic attacks (TIA), dementia
and also helpful in the evaluation of tumors, and sleep
disorders.
EEG is non-invasive and painless procedure, which involves
taking a brief history of the patients complaints, measuring
the patients head, applying leads to the scalp and the
running the test. A neurologist then reads the EEG and
reports the finding to the patient’s physician.
