The annual Legacy Society
dinner of the St. Luke's
Magic Valley Health
Foundation was held April
11, 2006. The dinner
recognized generous
businesses, organizations,
and individuals who make up
the Legacy Society. Each
has provided accumulative
gifts of at least $1,000
through the SLMV Health
Foundation.
This 2006 dinner,
underwritten by KeyBank,
recognized past Foundation
donors as well as 100 donors
who have recently moved to a
new donor category. All
Legacy Society members are
recognized in one of three
areas of the hospital: the
McKain-Kinney Remembrance
Rose Garden, the Cancer
Center Wall of Honor, and
the Legacy Society Wall of
Honor.
Sheepskin Coat Factory & Fur
Salon, Craig H. Neilsen (The
Craig H. Neilsen Foundation
and Canyon Park; a Neilsen &
Company Development),
Virginia Becker, Miles and
Nikki Daisher, Loren Butler,
Margaret Sinclair, and Ray
and Patricia Neale were all
recognized for their
outstanding efforts in
supporting the mission of
the Foundation during 2005
and previous years.
The efforts of these
individuals and all of the
Legacy Society members are
reflected in the financial
support the Foundation is
able to provide to both the
hospital and the community.
Between 10/1/04 and 9/30/05,
the SLMV Health Foundation
awarded $548,000 in
health-related grants for
education, equipment,
hardship assistance, and
wellness programs for all
ages. Overall, the
Foundation has given over $5
.6 million in support
of healthcare programs.
Due to the
generosity of Legacy Society donors,
the Foundation is able to purchase
life saving medical equipment,
provide scholarships to nursing
students and hospital staff, support
programs for children and seniors,
and assist in developing a medical
library and cancer programs in
additional to other projects.
- The SLMV Health Foundation
Legacy Society member is truly a
special type of person who has
provided for the future of the
community’s healthcare.
